What You Get When You Learn to Draw

What You Get When You Learn to DrawLately, it's been confirmed by a group of prominent psychologists that drawing is a very useful both for kids and adult people. It is a creative process and it allows you to take another look at the world, to express yourself.

Drawing keeps you away from the chaos of the outer world, it distracts you from the routine of everyday life, at least for 10 minutes or half an hour. It's like you dive into another world, colorful and bright, full of lines and shapes, where time flows differently. And you become able to see things in all their brightness and fullness. New ways of thinking and new abilities of your mind will help you to find creative decisions, both at work and at home.

One more thing which is so wonderful about drawing is that it develops not only creativity in children, but also fine motor skills. It is especially good for small kids who just start to draw and learn to work with a pencil. Moreover, drawing contributes to the perception of colors and shapes, trains memory and encourages the development of imagination. While drawing, the brain is activated, because the transformation of a picture in mind into the drawing on paper is a difficult and complicated task.

If you often suffer from stress or cannot relax at home - try to learn to draw. This is a family entertainment as well, and you can keep practicing with your kids. You will be relieved from stress or forget about your problems, and your kids will be thankful to you for that happy time you spent together. Besides, drawing skills are required in many professions, and in everyday life as well.

One more question may be worrying you - cannot that be that I am wasting my time? Can I learn to draw well or at least skillfully enough? Can I help my kids in drawing? The answer to this question is undoubtedly 'Yes, you can.' As a matter of fact, everybody can. Experimental studies of fine art activities assume that all people can develop their drawing skills regardless of age, gender or IQ. But teaching has to be systematical, on a daily or regular basis. Sufficient professional training is also required. Of course, we can't expect that everybody would become a great artist, but everyone can learn to draw quite competently.

Don't blame yourself for the lack of talent. The talent and drawing skills will be formed in the process of fine art activity.
