How to Draw a Self Portrait: Simple Steps

Step #1 
In the very first step, set up your paper on the paper stand using clips so that it can't move or fly away. Flatten it up on the board.

Step #2
I did some research on the immediate step of drawing a portrait and I discovered a trick to put on the first line onto the paper.

In this step, you are going to shape your face. Place your one hand into the middle of the paper to draw two points, as your hands are bigger than your face. Draw two points at the top of your middle finger and at the bottom of your wrist.

Step #3 
Now, draw a shape i.e. round or oval like your face to connect the upper and bottom point you have drawn. Remember that the shape should look similar to your face.

Step #4 
Divide your face into four sections using two dotted (vertical and horizontal) lines. The two lines make a small 'T' shape on your face.

Now it is time to draw your eyes. So, where should you put your eyes? Can you guess? Well, you see the two lines intersect? Your eyes should be there. Draw your eye lids just on the top of the vertical dotted line concentrating the distance of two eye lids. Then, draw eyelashes, pupils and brows carefully.

Now what? Yes, your beautiful nose. Draw your nose just below the dotted lines where they intersect and in the middle of the eyes. Then draw your chin like 'U' followed by your nostrils. Complete the nose with necessary lines.

Step #7
Draw a snot catcher. Do you know the snot catcher? The space between your lips and nose is called a snot catcher. It actually starts the top of the lips.

Step #8
The chin can be different in shape, so it is a special part to draw. Make a shape to connect the bottom lips and the jaw line. Draw it carefully.

Step #9
Now your ears, the ears start from the eyebrow lines and end at the snot catcher. Complete the ears with a loose 'S'.

Step #10
It is time to draw your fancy hair, right? Determine your hair style. Draw your hair on the face first then go to the back.

Once you have shaped your portrait. Now, outline the whole drawing using a hard pencil from the start to finish. Clear up all the unnecessary lines and dots using a soft eraser. Do some necessary works on your first portrait to make it more realistic. You can use crayons to add realistic colors.
